“The foot bone’s connected to the…head bone?!”
At Riverside Chiropractic & Vitality Center, we know how the feet are the foundation of the entire spinal pelvic structure. So any fallen arch or misalignment in the feet can cause pain (now or later) in the knees, hips, back or neck and even cause them to wear out prematurely. Many lower back issues are actually the result of feet that are poorly supported, and we can fix that!

We Now Have The Associate™ Platinum from
Foot Levelers

kFoot Levelers is a company that has been manufacturing custom-made orthotics called Spinal Pelvic Stabilizers for 55 years. The Associate Platinum is a scanner that lets us examine your feet and each foot’s three arches, show you a color photo of your feet where your may have issues that could affect the rest of your body, and then recommend Stabilizers made just for you!

Don’t wait for pain – see us now!

A patient who wears Stabilizers had this to say:
“I just got your Stabilizers from my chiropractor and they are the greatest things!
I have tried other custom orthotics and Foot Levelers are hands down the best!”

FAQ’S

What are orthotics?
An 'orthotic' is a device designed to restore your natural foot function. Many 'biomechanical' (walking) complaints such as heel pain, knee pain and lower back pain are caused by poor foot function. Orthotics re-align the foot and ankle bones to their neutral position, thereby restoring natural foot function. In turn this helps alleviate problems in other parts of the body.
In addition, orthotics give a more even weight distribution, taking pressure of sore spots (e.g. the ball of the foot, corns in between toes, bunions etc) and they provide some shock absorption.

Can you wear the orthotics during all daily activities?
People who stand or walk all day will benefit from orthotics.
If you suffer from pain during any form of sporting exercise then orthotics can reduce the pain associated with your condition.
For overweight individuals, orthotics will help to counteract the extra stress being placed on the feet.

Do I need a physician's prescription to get custom orthotics?
No. Chiropractors are primary health care professionals and therefore do not need a physician's referral. Custom orthotics are orthotics that are especially designed for your feet. We utilize a high-tech computerized digital scanner to customize your orthotics/stabilizers.

How long will my Foot Orthotic Last?
Usually between 12 to 18 months. Your physical activity level will affect the longevity of your stabilizers.

Does it take time to get used to orthotics?
Your feet need time to adjust to the correct biomechanical (walking) position. Orthotics should be gradually used to begin with. During the first 48 hours of use, use the orthotics for approximately 1-4 hours. After this period of time it is recommended you use the orthotics for 4-8 hours. In the second week of use the orthotics can be utilized all day.

How Do I Know If I Need Orthotics?
If you've consulted your doctor of chiropractic with a spine-related problem, you may be surprised by the interest given your feet. Problems here can cause a "chain reaction" of symptoms, including uneven shoe wear, fallen arches, irregular gait, back pain, and even headaches!
Your feet are the foundation for a healthy posture. But if the arches in one or both of your feet collapse ("flat foot"), your body isn't getting correct postural support.
Without support, foot problems may contribute to stress or pain in other parts of your body -- even if your feet don't hurt!
If Dr. Burger determines that your condition is complicated by a foot problem, she may prescribe a custom orthotic for you that can be worn in your shoes. To do this, a digital scan is performed, standing in a weight-bearing position. This is used to make custom-fitting corrective orthotics. Their unique size and shape are designed for you and your specific problem.
